The European Congenital Hearts Group (ECHG) was creates in Norway in July 2006 in an attempt to effectively enagage congenital heart groups across Europe.
The ECHG committee consists of seven elected people from various European countries.
The present commitee members were elected during the Young Hearts European Conference in Tampere, Finland in July 2008. Their task is to continue the work which had been done between 2006 and 2008 as well as manage the growth of the ECHG into a full standing organisation. The work of the committee will be presented at the next conference which will take place in Berlin in 2010.
The main goals for the present committee are:
1) Maintain and build on the work done on the website
2) Maintain and build the relationship with ECHDO
3) Continue to support the conferences through publishing the guide on the web, offering support and updating the guide based on the Finnish experience of running a conference
4) Develop a guide to GUCH Organisations
5) Investigate, and if possible find, funding for the the ECHG
6) Develop draft statutes for the the ECHG Umbrella Group (including internal rules)
